Yvette and Mike’s wedding at Abbey House, Barrow in Furness was simply spectacular. From the stunning venue, to writing their own vows, amazing guests who were a pleasure to spend the day with, finished off with a fantastic firework display to celebrate the day.
We started out morning with Yvette and her family getting ready in a beautiful apartment in Barrow. Make up and hair were on point throughout the morning with stunning make up and hair as well as keeping our brides nerves at ease. Mike was getting ready with his groomsmen in a nearby hotel where he was surprised with a lovely watch as his wedding gift from Yvette.
With hair and make up complete we followed Yvette to the amazing Abbey house for final touches and to put the dress on prior to the ceremony. Family and friends along with Mike eagerly awaited their bride’s arrival and she did not disappoint when she made her entrance on the arm of her father in a simply stunning classic wedding gown which portrayed her as an english rose beauty. An emotional moment as our bride and groom met eyes as Yvette walked down the aisle which was only topped by the exchange of vow for each other that they had written themselves.
Our group shots outside were cut short as the rain began to show but with the fantastic building aspects inside Abbey House, we had no shortage of areas to finish these up and begin our bride and groom formals. Yvette and Mike are so at ease with each other and their love clearly shows when they are in each others company that this radiated through onto their formal photos together.
As guests were seated for the wedding breakfast the music of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme filled the room as staff entered carrying bottles of champagne set alight with sparklers to signify the beginning of the speeches. Amazing speeches from Yvette’s father, Mike, our groom who made his way around the room to give personal thanks to special people, finished with an awesome speech from Mike’s best men which finished with a video they had created with special messages from friends and family including those that couldn’t be there for the day.
The day continued within this beautiful setting and we made use of the grounds outside for more photos as the rain cleared. Following a lovely first dance which guests were eager to join in with the sun set and the firework display was ready. Guests took sparklers outside as they waited for an amazing display for fireworks over the woods beyond Abbey house.
A truly magnificent day with wonderful people. An absolute honour and pleasure to photograph Mike and Yvette’s big day.
